My Apartment
A quickie tour of my new pad. Babel Language School has really been good to me; I was quite surprised at how nice the apartment is - in fact, its nicer than anything I've lived in in Provo, which tells you something. I think my apartment is an example how many of the buildings in China (and in many ways, China itself) have quite nice interiors despite their perhaps shady-looking exteriors.
Shanghai Trip
I was a little trigger happy with the movie mode on my digital camera. I spent a couple hours sorting out all the resulting clips, and this is what I came up with. Enjoy.
Babel Field Trip
As usual, my purpose was not to make a documentary or capture every moment of the trip, so what you get here is a random sampling where I played observer. (The most fun moments were spontaneous, and not caught on tape.) This trip made me really want to do a summer camp. I love these kids.
Happy to You!
Really random. But it made me laugh. Michael had to buy it. We think the irony was totally lost on those that were selling it to us. But honestly, no nursery should be without one.
Hiking Beigaofeng
My friend Wuyong wanted to take me up Beigaofeng, a mountain very close to his college campus. After visiting his school, we made our ascent. Closer to the foot of the mountain was a very impressive Buddhist temple (see Scenic Shots 1). The top was pretty breathtaking - my apologies on the poor video quality of my camera. It makes the city barely visible - as if its obscured by smog or something - which wasn't really the case.
