Today's Lunch Break:
Name days

My birthday is over and it was great. Its passing puts me in my late 20s, which is fine, I'm just not sure where the last 5 years went. I still feel 22.

In many countries, including in Europe and Latin America, people celebrate not only their birthdays, but also their name days. You can read up on it here and go here to see if you have a name day. I was surprised to find my name has a day, but Elliott isn't so lucky. And today, happy name day to all the Rebeccas and Beckys!

This is the first I've ever heard of this. Sounds suspiciously like "another holiday...requiring flowers and small gifts".... =)

And on behalf of the Elliotts of the world, I'm outraged that we are getting the shaft on this one.

Psh. My first, middle AND last name all have name days (OK, so I had to use "anders", and it's a swedish nameday, but still).

I now expect presents four times a year.

Spencer: 12/26
Emeline: 10/27
Both of our name days share the day of the month with our birthdays (26th and 27th). Yet another proof that we were made for each other.
